My classroom is designed around two instructional strategies - Flipped Learning & Guided Inquiry Learning. To learn more about me and how my classroom works, please view my presentation from open house.
Classroom Expectations.
- Be polite. Show respect and consideration for all living or nonliving objects in this classroom.
- Be present. Both physically and mentally to ensure a successful year in chemistry class.
- Be prepared. Come to class with all necessary materials and completed assignments.
- Be prompt. Assignments and tests completed after the due date will receive a reduced grade.
- Be productive. Maximize your learning by being on task, working cooperatively, and following directions.
- Be proactive. Take control of your own education. Show initiative when you struggle academically.
Participation Points.
Full credit assigned weekly.
- Misses no more than 1 class period.
- Well-prepared for class.
- Makes meaningful contributions to class discussions and presentations.
- Participates in small group work in a constructive manner.
- Stays on task throughout the class period.

Comments are entered into ProgressBook using the format: Letter Date (e.g. A5)
A = Absent work missing
B = Inappropriate behavior
D = Not dressed for lab
G = Goggles/gloves not worn
L = Lab table not cleaned
M = Missing assignment/materials
N = Assignment not complete
O = Off-task
P = Group participation weak
Q = Question missing
R = Reduced grade
T = Talking excessively
U = Unproductive in class
X = Exempt from assignment
Z = Sleeping during class
A = Absent work missing
B = Inappropriate behavior
D = Not dressed for lab
G = Goggles/gloves not worn
L = Lab table not cleaned
M = Missing assignment/materials
N = Assignment not complete
